1 Only 40 kilometres (25 miles) northeast of modern-day Mexico City, the Pirámides de Teotihuacán (Teotihuacan pyramids) site is roughly 20 square kilometres (8 mi²) that once housed a population estimated at more than 100,000 people living there between approximately 1,400 to 2,100 years ago.
70 With a reported 4 million visitors a year making the pilgrimage, we hit the site on a 'quite' day, so there was none of the usual 'combat tourism' that plagues most popular attractions around the world. I really enjoyed the visit and was fascinated as to the building and sheer scale of the site – well worth the visit IMHO.
